Position Summary Collaborate with families, schools and community organizations to conduct mental health screenings. Completes follow-up for children identified in need of further assessment or emergency services.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Train agency staff or staff from partner organization to provide assistance to children or parents completing a screening;
- Train staff on the process for dissemination and collection of screenings, including how to respond to emergencies;
- Works collaboratively and maintain a good relationship with other organizations such as schools;
- Exhibit excellent negotiation and marketing skills;
- Supervise staff who disseminate and/or collect screenings;
- Ensure the chain of custody throughout the screening process from dissemination to communicating results of positive screening to parents and children;
- Score screenings;
- Analyze screenings results;
- Supervise staff responsible for data entry related to screenings; and
- Oversee the screening process.
- Models and practices sensitivity, fair treatment and acceptance of diversity in all interpersonal interactions
- Shows willingness to learn about and implement skills related to diversity
- Must maintain and submit all of the required documents and you must comply with all aspects of the Vehicle Safety and Usage Policy.
- All other duties deemed appropriate.
Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in one of these fields: Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Education, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Recreation or Recreation Therapy, Counseling, Community Mental Health, Child and Family Studies, Sociology, Speech and Hearing.
- A NYS teacher’s certificate for which a bachelor’s degree is required; or
- NYC licensure and registration as a Registered Nurse and a bachelor’s degree.
- Four years of experience in providing direct services to children with emotional disturbance and their families; or
- A master’s degree in one of these fields may be substituted for two years of experience: Social Work, Psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, Education, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Recreation or Recreation Therapy, Counseling, Community Mental Health, Child and Family Studies, Sociology, Speech and Hearing.
