Once again, the group selected Child & Family Services’ Haven House residents to receive a portion of these holiday donations. We would like to extend our thanks to the Verizon Pioneers for their continued support and generosity!

The annual Adopt-a-Family program provides holiday gifts to families served by our agency who are experiencing exceptional hardships during the holiday season. Bank of America and West Herr Automotive Group generously support the program annually by hosting toy collection drives which benefit the families served by Child & Family Services and the Adopt-a-Family program.

We extend our sincere thanks to the staff and patrons of Bank of America for their generous support of our 2009 Adopt-a-Family Program. Donation boxes and canisters were displayed at over 20 Bank of America locations throughout Western New York, and were used to collect holiday gifts for the families. New toys were collected and distributed to our families in need, helping our agency provide a brighter holiday to season to over 130 families.

The West Herr Automotive Group adopted 30 families in our Adopt-a-Family program, providing toys, gifts, gift cards and Christmas dinners to each of these families. The incredible generosity of the West Herr Automotive Group played a large role in making the 2009 Adopt-a-Family program the most successful to date, with more than 130 families receiving the gift of hope during the holiday season.

Conners’ Alum Supports Next Generation of Kids

Since his time as a resident at Conners Children Center from 1962 to 1967, Dave Giglia has had a deep connection to the Center and the children it serves. Because of his positive experiences at the Center, Dave and his co-workers at Fed-Ex have generously reached out to support the Center during the holiday season. Through fundraising initiatives during the year, including auctions, bake sales and selling candy bars, Dave and his co-workers raise money used to purchase gift items for the Children at the Center. During the 2009 holiday season, Dave and the Fed-Ex team generously supported the Center’s residents by donating six Christmas tress, $1,000 of Target gift cards, $700 of Old Navy gift cards, and $1,000 in cash used to purchase movie, skating and bowling passes for the children to enjoy during their holiday break.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dave, his wife Joan, and the staff of the Fed-Ex facilities located at 299 Cayuga Road, who had a hand in making these contributions possible.
