Working Together to Close Racial Equity Gaps
Nearly 100 leaders came together from business, non-profits, government and education to continue a meaningful conversation on racial equity in Western New York at Community Dialogue. The event was an opportunity to discuss the data on racial equity for our community, and it was an invitation to be part of the solution.
For the past couple of years, the Greater Buffalo Racial Equity Roundtable has worked to help Buffalo benefit from closing racial equity gaps. Their work culminates in the Racial Equity Dividend Report. The community's feedback on the report is a critical part of moving forward toward positive change.
The Community Dialogue allowed for a conversation reacting to vital statistics in four key areas; Education & Job Readiness, Criminal Justice & Safety, Quality of Life & Neighborhoods and Income and Wealth. Leaders acknowledged how each of these areas could be dismissed in isolation, but together framed a compelling argument for change.
