November is National Adoption Month

Through Child & Family Services’ Adoption Program, loving families have welcomed children of all ages into their homes and their hearts; including single children, sibling groups, and children with a variety of special needs.  Most children are school-aged and older, and many are facing emotional, behavioral or physical challenges. What they all share is the need for a safe, loving, permanent family to call their own!

Who are these adoptive parents? They may be just about anyone....the teachers in our schools,  members of our churches, health care providers, law enforcement officers, or stay at home parents.  They are your neighbors, your co-workers, perhaps even members of your own family. In short- they are people just like YOU!!!

If you have ever thought about adding to your family through adoption, we invite you to call us to learn more about how Child & Family Services can help you take those next important steps! Adoptive and foster parents are adults of all ages, races, cultures, orientations either single, married or living with a partner.  Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, and must provide a medical clearance and need to have a criminal background check and clearance through the New York State Abuse and Maltreatment Register. Applicants must have an income and provide references.

Child & Family Services’ dedicated staff offers training, guidance and support throughout the adoption process.  To learn more about the program or to register for our next informational meeting, please call us at (716) 882-0555.
