Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, or otherwise participated in Child and Family Services’ Fashion Show with a Twist event on May 15th at the Tonawanda Castle! More than 300 of you joined us for a fantastic afternoon of brunch, fashion, shopping, and most importantly, supporting Haven House, Erie County’s only licensed domestic violence shelter.
As some may remember, Fashion Show with a Twist was first held in 2009 to commemorate Haven House’s 30th anniversary, and by popular demand, has now become an annual fundraiser to support the life-saving work of Haven House. The event pairs models dressed in matching outfits for a runway show where one model appears in the “plain jane” version, while the other is “dressed to the nines” with the most fashionable accessories, showcasing how the right accessories can make any outfit absolutely amazing!
More than a dozen vendors featured their latest spring lines in an eclectic boutique shopping experience, where attendees were able to purchase accessories seen on the runway that afternoon, with proceeds of each sale directly benefiting Haven House. Models for Fashion Show with a Twist include staff from Child and Family Services, domestic violence advocates, Erie County District Attorneys, University at Buffalo Business School Professionals and other community members. Proceeds from the event benefit Haven House, Erie County’s only licensed domestic violence shelter. We were honored to have WIVB-TV’s Michele McClintick as Emcee of this terrific event!
For over 31 years, Haven House has sheltered and counseled more than 25,000 abused women and children. If you would like more information on Child and Family Services’ Haven House and all of the comprehensive services available to victims, please call (716) 884-6000.
Child and Family Services would also like to thank Key Bank, Townsquare Media, Galleria Mall, Eastern Hills Mall and Elaine M. Hegedusich from Hunt Real Estate Era for their support of Fashion Show with a Twist.
