Introducing Child & Family Services’ Newest Board Members and Board Officers

Child & Family Services is pleased to welcome four new members to the Agency’s 2014-2015 Board of Directors:

Anthony M. Mrozik, Jr.
Mr. Mrozik is Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled in Buffalo, NY.  As a member of the Executive Team, he participates in preparing and executing the strategic plan, works closely with other members of the Executive Team to ensure quality programming is delivered in a compliant and financially sound manner, and has overall responsibility for Finance functions and leads the Finance Department.  Prior to his current position, he served as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Gateway-Longview in Buffalo, NY and held the position of Controller for Heritage Centers in Buffalo, NY.  He is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA) and New York State Society of CPA’s (NYSSCPA), and previously served on the Board of Directors for CASA-Voices for Children and NYSSCPA Young CPA’s Committee.  He holds an executive MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo, as well as a bachelor’s degree in accounting from D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY.  Mr. Mrozik currently resides in Orchard Park, NY.

John R. Rodgers
Mr. Rodgers is Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer at Independent Health headquartered in Williamsville, NY, where he is responsible for overseeing all business operations within the organization.  He previously held the roles of Chief Marketing Officer as well as Vice President, Pharmacy since joining Independent Health in 1999.  Prior to Independent Health, Mr. Rodgers held a 16-year career with Bristol-Myers Squibb.  He is active in professional organizations including the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacists, American Pharmaceutical Association, Pharmacists Association of WNY (PAWNY), and the Pharmaceutical Society of the State of New York, and is currently immediate past President of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Western and Central New York Chapter, Board of Trustees.  Mr. Rodgers holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he has been an adjunct professor in the School of Pharmacy and serves on the Dean of the School of Pharmacy’s National Industry Advisory Committee.  He currently resides in East Aurora, NY.

Matthew V. Spencer, CHA
Mr. Spencer is General Manager at Comfort Suites Downtown Buffalo, NY, where he oversees operations and ensures the hotel’s top quality performance in all areas.  Prior to joining Comfort Suites in 2008, he held the role of Director of Operations for Visions Hotels based in Corning, NY and before joining Visions Hotels was Cottage Manager for William George Agency for Children in Freeville, NY, where he oversaw operations of a group home for emotionally disturbed children.  Mr. Spencer is a member of the Buffalo Niagara Travel Professionals, member of the New York State Business Travel Association, has been involved in the Rotary Club Mentor Program, on the Board of the Hotel/Motel Association, served as Vice President of the Theatre District Association, sits on the Marketing Committee for Visit Buffalo Niagara and volunteers with Carly’s Club and Roswell Pediatric Center.  Mr. Spencer holds a bachelor’s degree from Cedarville College and is a Certified Hotel Administrator.  He currently resides in Orchard Park, NY with his wife Joelle and son Jordan.

Janine E. Tramont
Ms. Tramont is Chief Development Officer at Girl Scouts of WNY, where she is responsible for creating and managing a comprehensive, integrated fund development and marketing organization to support the growth of the Girl Scouts of Western New York Council and fulfill its mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.  Prior to this role, she served as Business Development and Special Projects Manager at University at Buffalo, School of Management, Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and held numerous positions at Buffalo Niagara Partnership.  In 2010, Ms. Tramont was named one of Western New York’s Most Powerful, Nurturing Women Leaders by Buffalo Spree and has received numerous awards including the Small Business Association’s Women Business Champion of the Year (2010), and the Amherst Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Advocate of the Year Award (2011).  She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY and currently resides in Amherst, NY.

David R. Barrett will hold the position of Chair of the 2014-2015 Board of Directors.  Mr. Barrett is a Director in the Tax Practice of Freed Maxick, and has been associated with the firm for the past 38 years.  Mr. Barrett has been on the Agency’s Board of Directors since 2006, and previously served as Vice Chair and Treasurer.

Cheryl Duggan has been named Vice Chair of the 2014-2015 Board of Directors.  Ms. Duggan is a Partner and Business Manager at Eric Mower and Associates, with more than 20 years of experience in her field.  She has served on the Agency’s Board of Directors since 2007, including a term as Secretary.

Brendan M. Harrington has been elected Treasurer of the 2014-2015 Board of Directors.  Mr. Harrington is a Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Computer Task Group.  He has served on the Agency’s Board of Directors since 2008.

Wendy W. Barth has been selected Secretary of the 2014-2015 Board of Directors.  Ms. Barth is a Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at Rich Products Corporation, with more than 13 years of experience at the company.  Ms. Barth has served on the Agency’s Board of Directors since 2005.
