Agency Hosts 3rd Annual Leadership Dialogue on Issues Facing Children and Families

On May 6th, over 15 elected officials from Erie and Niagara counties gathered at the historic Richmond/Lockwood Mansion at 844 Delaware avenue to join us for the 3rd Annual Leadership Dialogue event.  Hosted by Gene Meeks, Child & Family Services’ President & CEO, Michael Walsh, Chair of the agency’s Board of Directors and Barbara A. Piazza, Esq., Vice Chair of the agency’s Board of Directors, the event brought together members of our agency and elected officials from throughout the region to discuss the impact of recent budget cuts as well as how both our agency and local government can work together to meet the needs of our constituents.

The fruitful dialogue that emerged shed light on numerous issues that affect the health, education, and general well-being of many in our community.  Elected officials provided insights into specific challenges facing their constituents, and offered many positive ideas for joining efforts to reach out to these at-risk individuals.

We would like to thank all those who attended this incredibly important and informative event.  Your input, thoughts, ideas and concerns are invaluable.  By working together and openly exchanging ideas and information, we can, as a team, make a positive change in the lives of our friends, neighbors, and in our community as a whole.
