National Foundation Honors Katey Joyce
Katey Joyce, Director of Domestic Violence Prevention at Haven House, was honored by the Eyes on America Foundation for her remarkable efforts to keep women and children safe in our community. The Foundation lauded her efforts with a Community Service Award at their annual reception at Russell’s on Friday, November 7, 2014.
As Director, Ms. Joyce has overseen the development and growth of Haven House, Erie County’s only licensed domestic violence shelter and the second domestic violence shelter to open in New York State. Ms. Joyce manages domestic violence prevention services which include a 24-hour hotline, long-term housing, counseling and legal advocacy services for victims. She has also been a faculty member at several local colleges and mentor for directors of domestic violence programs and social workers across New York State.
