Elder Mediation

CRJ’s Elder Mediation program is designed to address and resolve the complex problems
involving legal, health and psychosocial issues that confront senior citizens, their
families and service providers.
An elderly father wants to stay in his family home but his out of town children
are concerned about his safety. His children agree that he should move to North
Carolina to live with his daughter’s family. Father wants to stay put and doesn’t
want to be treated like a child.
A widow has substantial estate from her marriage to her children’s father. At her
82nd birthday party, she tells her children that she plans to marry a man she met
in her assisted living apartment complex. Her children are concerned about her decision
and what impact this may have over their inheritance and want to talk her out of
this decision.
A senior citizen living alone in the neighborhood in which he grew up complains
to police about his neighbors barking dogs and the loud music juveniles play during
late evening hours.
Through mediation, senior citizens have a meaningful voice in decisions about their
quality of life and their future.
What is the Cost?
Elder Mediation is available at no cost to seniors, their families and caregivers.
